SYDNEY, July 24.
The inquiry has been completed into the Wallaroo torpedoing incident. The object. was to discover why iho missiles deviated) after being fired from the tube. The resultl has not been disclosed, and the report will be forwarded to torpedo experts in. Eng-v land.
(While tlie vessels of the Australian squadron were at' torpedo practice at Jervois Bay on Saturday last H.M.S. Royal Arthur, steaming past the Wallaroo, fired several practice torpedoes at the target the Wallaroo was dragging three hundred yards behind her. Two torpedoes from the flagship's .taxboard tube struck the Wallaroo, one near the port propeller, denting the outer plating, and the second causing more, sorious damage. The heads' of .both missiles were crumpled up. Collision mats were plaoed over the hole, which was subsequently Pegged w itb wooden wedges. The Wallaroo was accompanied by the other vessels ito Sydney, where she will be docked. After an examination by a diver and the damage had been attended to, the vessel' continued the practice.) ( /
