CHRISTCHURCH SHORTHAND WRITERS' ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Christ#iiircl» Shorthand Writers' Association wail held ' on Saturday. In the absence of Mr &. W. Buss«ll, the president, Mr F. B. Sapsford presided. There was" a large attendance of members present. The annual' report stated that the Association had had a very successful year, the membership totalling 88. Five speed examinations were held) during the year, and 74 certificates were received from Bir Isaac Pitman and Son, being an increase of 34 over the previous year. The thanks of the Association were duo to the North Canterbury Education Board for the use of rooms in the Normal School for examination purposes, and tha committee desired to record its appreciation of the services of the president, Mr G. W. Russell. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year had amount* ed to £54 14s 2d, and the expenditure to £41 17s 3d, leaving a cash balance ot £13 16a lid.
