AUSTRALIAN APPREHENSIONS.
ENGLISH NEWSPAPER VIEWS. United Press Association — By Electrio Telegraph — Oopyrigh't. (Received June 4, 1.16 p.m.) LONDON, June 3. The " Financial Times " says that Australian apprehensions with regard to the preferential trade proposals are unfounded. It ds npt a zollverein that is proposed. Possibly the Empire's variety of products and conditions rendered a strict Customs union impracticable. iNo colony was asked to alter its fiscal system. The only proposal is to enable Britain to reciprocate preferential treatment and protect British trade against attacks abroad.
