The 'Commissioner of Customs, the Hon C H Mills, -was interviewed herd on behalf of the Austin Wabh Company, which ha-8 a tobacco plantation ill Fiji, and was asked that tho raw leal grown there should bs admitted to New Zealand at Is a pound less thaii is charged On other importations. The company desires to start a factory in Auckland^ and the concession would lead to th« employment .of considerable labour locally. Mr Mills said he hod already discussed the subject with the Government of Fiji, and it would be fully gone into by the Cabinet on his return to Wellington.
