HEAVY EAINFALLS. [Per Press Association.]
NELSON, June 1.
The rainfall in May was 10.6 inch points compared with 1.37 points during May last year. There was a prolonged thunderstorm, accompanied by one inch of rain and much hail on Saturday night. No damage was done.
A Wellington telegram states that dttring May 8,95, inches of rain, fell on nineteen dayfe. This is the heaviest raififyll «* any single month since April, 1896, -when 12. IS inches fell.
