WAIWETU HANDICAP, of 100 soys; seven furlongs— General Symonds, 7st Blb, 1 ; Pure Silver, 6st9lb, 2; Narcotic, 7st 6!b, 3. Tsaritsa and Shackle were scratched. St Denis and General Symonds were in ihe van until a few yards from home, where the latter suddenly died out of ihe contest, leaving General Symonds -io win by a lenglh. Time— lmin 23 lrSsec.
