AN INHUMAN WOMAN.
* CRUELLY BEATS HER LITTLE SISTER. [Pee Pkess Association.] TIMARU, April 11. An unusual case was before the Court today, when &y oiuig womanj was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment for having cruelly beaten her little eight-year-old sister. The evidence, showed' that in ungovernable tits of temper the accused beat her sister with a broom handle and shovel in tihe most inhuman way. The accused admitted the offence and said she had done it in a fitof temper. The charge was laid under the Children's Protection Act, 1890.
