A comiMnding ofheera" inspection parade of the N Battery was held at Lyttelton oU Wednesday evening. Fifty of all ranks were present hinkr Captaiti Bric6" atid Lieutenants Nev/lls and Wardle. After tile inspection ttte men wferc formed ihto half coihpailies for infantry work, in extended order. The left half-company, under Lieutenant Wardte, went to protect the 7-irich gun at Erskine Point. Ihe right half-coinpauy, under Lieutenaint Neville, formed an jfttacking party. Captain -Brice acted as umpire. The work was carried out very intelligently by the.noncommissioned officer- and --nen- who Avere well handled by thfe office-_; Tlie > ftttacking party finally oUtflabked the defenders, and made their "W**ty unobserved to the gUti-i*>lt.
