Dbt'.n t kl'.nn"ess. — A male first offender was fined 10s and costs,' with the alterna-, tive of forty-eight hours' imprisonment. — W. Francis Naylor, an old offender, was fined £5 and cosls, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Remanded.— Henry Fraser Mal'shall was charged with having, on Jan. 14, at Christchurch, stolen a watch, value £5, the pronerty of James Moore. On the application of the police he was remanded until Thursday next. v (Before Mr R. Beetham, S.M.) Civil Cases. — In the following cases the defendant did not appear, and judgment was entered for the plaintiff by default with cos t s: _A. Riach v. A. C.
