* • I THE RICKARDS* COMPANY. There was a very large audience at the 1 Canterbury Hall last night, when Rick-.) a^rds's No. 3 Vaudeville Company gay& a I change of programme. The mighty San- < dow, was, of course, the centre of attraction, and the keenest interest was taken in every one of his .feats of strength, which were cheered and cheered again by the delighted audience. Professor Maccann's ! clever playing on iis concertinas was cvi- ! dently thoroughly enjoyed, and Mr and Mr* Sidney Drew kept the audience in ! roars of laughter during the progress of their comedietta, "When Tiro Hearts are Won." Miss Nita Leete's fine contralto voice -was (heard to advantage, and 1 Miss Ray Jones, the soprano of the company, was especially good in Her singing 1 oi the pretty lullaby "'Close your dreaming eyes." Mr Mark Anthony's comic songs -were well received, and "Little -Fanny Powers ' was successful in her imitations of celebrities. The company -will appear to-night for the last time in Christchurch. Mr Sandow will make a presentation to Mr F. A., Howribrook, of Christchurch, in recognition of his endeavours to promote the Sandow system of physical culture.
