THE TALLEST MAN IN THE WORLD.
♦ A FRENCH CANADIAN. The consternation created in /the House of Commons recently, by the appearr ance of a visitor fof over 7ft. in height, calls to mind Edward Beaupre, tbe young French-Canadian -giant, who bids fair to outrival the fabled one-eye^ giant Polyphemus, of Homer's time, while ho overtops by several feet modern competitors \ He is 30 years old, tips the scale a$ 5871 b, and stands 10ft liin high, his hands measuring 19in, ajid 1 his feet 24in by 12iiv wide. A tworyard tape-measure barely encircles his chest. There is sufficient cloth in one of his suits to outfit ten average men. The massive framework of each of his outstretched arms will bear the weight of three athletes. One of the peculiarities about Beunrc is that .his father and mother were of ordinary size. From youth he has been, a -great gymnast, and has given I much time to athletic sports.
