OPINION OF' A LOCAL OFFICIAL. United Press Association — By jpleetric , Telegraph— 'Copyright, (Received May 29, 10.7 a.m.) . SYDNEY, May 29. Sir Henry Berkeley, the Chief Justice of Fiji, on being interviewed, said that there was a great future before Fiji as a sugarproducing Asked how; the proposal to federate with- New Zealand was regarded, he declared that the future of the Island was assured, whatever form the Government may take. The people would like to have a certain amount of representation in legislative -matters, but are not troubling themselves much/ Both the white, and coloured population would probably be just as pleated and contented if the present form of Government continued. They also would not object to joining j either the Commonwealth or New Zealand.
