News has been received to the effect that a man named John Thomson was killed by a train near the Gore Railway Station last evening. No particulars as to the cause are to hand. The deceased was a stranger at Gore, and apparently well on in years and without evidence of means. The fireman Edward Morrison, who was injured on board the s.s. Kumara yestei-. day, is progressing favourably. Guard Hodgkinson, who fell off a train in tßs Lyttelton Tunnel last night, is progressing very satisfactorily. He left the casual ward to-day.
