WEATHER FORECAST.
The following weather forecast was teieerapbed from Wellington to-day:—A gale from between the south-east and' couth-west at all places northward of Napier, Tanpo and Raglan, strong from the same direction thence southward to Kaikoura and Cape Egmont, and moderate south-east to south, and south-west winds elsewhere. The barometer will further zise- everywhere. The sea will he heavy on: the east coast between Kaikoura and East Cape, considerable on all the west coast of the North Island and moderate elsewhere. The tides wiil be high on the west coast north of Cape Egmont and also on the east coast from East Cape .southward to Cape Campbell and at Patea, and moderate elsewhere. Frost is to be expected in all parts of the 'South Island, and is probable in parts of the North Island south of Castle Point and New Plymouth. Warning signals for southerly gales, are exhibited .at Cap© Maria Van Diemen and Tiritiri. Synopsis of the last twenty-four hours:—Northerly gates with heavy rain have been experienced northward of Thames and Manukau, and strong gales from the south-east to south-west thence southward to Cape Campbell, and colder weather has been prevalent. There has been a good rainfall northward of Kaikoura and Hokitika. A high pressure from the west, which is now southward of Caßtle Point and' Cape Farewell, has deflected a low pressure from the north-west, which was near Cape Farewell yesterday, and caused it to travel to the north«aat,ar.dit is now between White Island and the Great Barrier Island. A low pressure from the west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape about Tuesday. ■ '
