Councillor, Park, a member of tihe Conciliation Board, will be a candidate for the City Mayoralty The Success of the High Schools in the Education Board's scholarship examinations is remarkable. The highest five among the seniors are from the Boys' High Sohool and fche next three are from the Girls' High Sphool. The Otago members of Parliament will visit the Catlins district and inspeot the Catlins railway works on Jan. 16. Mr B. R. Wise only remained one night h} Dunedin, going on by the south express this morning. The har.vesfc prospects in South Otago are fairly promising. In. spite of the large amount of wet weather, there are no indications of the wheat being affected by rust. * . ——
