The average iprice of Canterbury 'mutton is 3|d ; of Southland and Dunedin and Wellington Meat Expoi-t Company's 3&d ; of other North Isla.nd brands 3d, and of River Plate 3d- Beef is • quiet ; New Zeailan'dihmdquart^rs 4^-d, forequarttrs 2fd. There is a good dc^mand for butter at 105s iper cwt, Danish 113s per cwt. Cheese is firm at 50s per cwt. Hemp is firm, but qxtiet. There is a better demand for- distant deliveries.
