The gold yield for the year was 1,881,755 ounces, 300,000 ounces above the previous year's return, and 237,000 ounces above the State's record. WESTERN AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. SYDNEY, Jan. 6. .■ The Vision, which arrived at Newcastle from Mercury Bay on Saturday, had a stormy passage, and was hove to, sea anchors and oil-bags being used. A lifeboat was carried away, the vessel's deckhouse was damaged, and a portion of her deck cargo .was washed overboard. [From Our. Coeeespondent.] DUNKDIN, Jan. 6. The Vision is a wooden brigantine of 159 tons net register, and was built at Clyde River, New South Wales, in 1866. • Sh« is owned by Mr G.
