THE WEATHER.
The rain which set in yesterday has continued to-day almost without intermission, accompanied by a light westerly wind. The telegraphic weather report at ' 9 a.m. shows that rain has be«n general over the colony as fat south as. Dunedin. . Heavy rains-fell during the night at Russell, Qisbome, Wellington, and Kaikoura., but at Queens-: town, Inyercargill, and- Bluff ithe ,w«a)fch«r was fine. The barometer corrected sft Cape Maria was 29.90 and the the rmometer ; at 54, while at Bluff the barometer stood at 29.95' and the thermometer ait-45. Thesea at Russell, Mannkau ...Heads, Castlepoint, and Kaikoura was 'rough, and smooth thence southwards. The weather forecast predicts moderate, to strong westerly wind? south of Taupo. The barometer i«x Christchurch is nsiw slowly. .
