-♦■ — ■ — The heavy dusfc storms that .frequently rose in the streets on Saturday evening were responsible for a good deal of damage. Several drapers finding their stocks becoming impregnated with gritty anaterial from the streets shut up shop at an early hour. Pedestrians appeared to have been rolling in a. sand pit, innumerable hats bowled along the roadway at lightning pace, but few being recovered, and cab horses refused to face tlie blinding gusts. The dust we« banked up against doors and buildings, and the street gutters were buried in it. Before dawn on Sunday morning the wind increased almost to a hurricane, while the lightning was very frequent and! vivid, and loose chimney, pots, shaky fences and young trees were hurled to. the' ground. Yesterday the wind changed to >the.east» and this anoyning rain fell. ,
