LYTTELTON JUBILEE REGATTA

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the General Committee of the Lytteltou Jubilee. Regatta was held in the Borough Council Chamber last evening. There was a largo attendance, and Mr J. T. Brice, chairman of tho committee, presided. The secretary, Mr G. A. Lewin, stated that definite promises had 'been received that the Auckland yachts Thelma and Rainbow, and the Dunedin Thelma, would come to the Regatta. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs J. Collins, C. Ferrier, J. Page and G. A. Lewin, was appointed to prepare a reports on the rule* and course. The secretary and treasurer were instructed to arrange for letting booths and sites. Captain M'Clatchie was elected commodore, and Messrs G. Laurenson, M.H.R., and F. Woymouth, and Captain Willis vice-com-modores. Mr Laurenson reported that ar rangements had been made with the Government for a submarine explosion, that H.M.S. Mildura. would come to Lytteltou for the regatta, also that 250 Maoris" eighty of whom would be cauoenien, would' probably come, to Canterbury for the Jubilee celee'bration, and would take part in the proceedings on the regatta, days. A sub-com-mittee, consisting of Messrs J. T. Brice, G. A. Lewin, 0. Ferrier, G. Laurenson, M.H.R., and the Rev E. E. Chambers, was appointed to consider the question of the Maoris' part in the doings of the two days.
