"United Press Association — By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (Received Nov. 23, 9.5 a.m.) BRISBANE, Nov. 23. In the Legislative Assembly the Government had another narrow escape, an amendment to the Railway Standing Committee Bill being defeated by a small majority. Mr Dawson, the labour leader, moved the amendment, which the Premier accepted as a want of confidence motion. The amendment was defeated by 33 votes to 32. The Premier said that in the present temper of the House it was advisable to withdraw the Bill until later in the session.
