The United Drapers defeated tbe bydeniham Club on Nov. 2 and 16, by 37 runs. The scores were : — United Drapers ;149 and 97 (Malcolm 13 and 0, Berry 25 and 3, Bromley 13 and 6, Fraer 0 and not out 13, G. Voyce 21 and 10, Turner 5 and 28, Clarke 21 and 3, H. Strange 28 and 9, :Drennan 0 and 16). Svdenham 115 and 94 '(Patrick 11 and 8, Quill 24 and 2, Bates 10 and 14, Merryman 12 and 1, Dann 38 not out and 25, Marsden 3 and 17, Moore 0 and 14). For the winers Bromley, Drennan •and Fraer, a nd for- the losers' Merrrman and Marsden bowled best. The following are the, matches set down for the next round of the Thursday competition, the grounds being those of the first-mentioned clubs: — Farmers v. United Drapers, Sydenham v. Post and Telegraph.
