Tho Ashley County Cup matches were continued on Saturday. Rangiora defeated the Kaiapoi Thirteen by an innings, and 66 runs. Kaiapoi made 30 and 55 (Lcithead 16 and Wright 11), and Rangiora 151 (Chapman 37, Bradburn 37, F. Bailey 18, Gulliver 12 and Helmore 10). For the winners, Hel.more took sis wickets for 10 runs, Gulliver 6ix for 20, and Cresswell three for 1. M. Lynskey bowled best for Kaiapoi. Woodend forfeited to Amberley, being unable to put a team in the field. Qn Saturday the Kowai and Kaiapoi Elevens played a match on Kaiapoi Park, which ended in a victory for the local men by 97 runs, the scores being Kowai 48 (J. jßanks 16 not out, and Thompson 10) ; •Kaiapoi 145 (Clayton 88 not out, Feathep- . stone 17 and M'Gregor 15). For Kowai Banks, Thompson, Thomas and Jackson, and for Kaiapoi W. Rollinson, Blackwell ' «nd Green bowled well.
