ATHLETICS.
A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Atbletic and Cycling Club was held lasb evening ; present— Messrs G. E. Good (Chairman), Thompson, J. P. Best, Wd.de.n, Oi. Bilfcolifi iindj. Monkigu: It was decided to hold a sports meeting on Sept. 28, the programme to include a threeihoura' cycling contest, a number of cash and amateur athletic events and a boys' .; relay race, open to teams from publia : •schools. The Canterbury Cricket and Ath- • letic Sports "Ground Company wrote granting the club the use of Lancaster Park for ' Show Day. An invitation was received from the " Ellesmere C.C, to its anruutl "social." 1 A general meeting of members ; was"' then held.
