Colonels Bailey and Moore, of flie South Canterbury Volunteer district, were in Ashburton on Tuesday evening, and held an informal meeting with the officers of the old Guards Company, which was disbanded some years ago, t/o consider the advisableness of raising an additional company in Ashburton. It was considered that the prospects of a new company M r ere fair, and a public meeting will be called soon.
