♦ A match, eight a side, was played at Leeston on Saturday afternoon last, between Leeston and Brookside, when the former won with a little to spare. Afternoon tea and refreshments were supplied by the home team. The following are the scores : — Gentlemen's Singles— Mr S. Craddock (L.) beat Mr R. Williams (B.), 6-3. Combined Doubles — Miss Burns and Mr Herron (L.) beat Miss Wright and Mr Wright (B.), 60; Miss Lunn and Mr Hogg (L.) lost to Miss Verron and Mr Vaughan (B.), 3-6. Ladies' Singles— Miss Moore (L.) beat Miss With ell (B.), 6-2. Combined Doubles— Miss Ewenson and Mr Lunn (L.) lost to Miss Washbourne and Mr Withell (B), 2-6. Gentlemen's Doubles— Messrs Lunn and Craddock (L.) beat Messrs Williams and Withell (B.), ; 6-4. Messrs Herron and Hogg (L.) beat Messrs Vaughan and Smith (B.), 6-1.
