THE RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIP OF NEW ZEALAND.
The following notes on the shooting careers of the present; champion rifle shot of New Zealand and his two runners-up will be of interest. It-will, however, be noticed that there is a large gap of 67 points between the winning score of last year and this. Last year Private A. Ballinger, of the Wellington Guards, put. on 565 points, as against the 508 obtained this year by Private J. M'Gregor, but the state of the weather in which the latter had to fire would doubtless account for more than a, handful of points.
