MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The quarterly meeting of < the Loyal Leithfield Lodge, M.U., was held on Saturday evening, N.Gr., Bro C. Sutherland, presiding, and there was not a large attendance. Correspondence was read from the P.C.S., enclosing the business-sheet of the district meeting, and P.Gr.'s John Fitzpatrick and W. Fraillwere apointed delegates. Certificates were received from L.S., declaring one brother on and off the sick fund. The balance-sheet for 1897 showed that the Lodge had experienced a prosperous year ; the number of members had increased from fifty-seven to sixty-one, the sick fund showed a credit balance .£998 16s 2d, members' surplus bonus .£217 12s, management fund .£27 19s sd, beinsr a gross increase of i>los Us lOd. A hearty vote of thanks was carried to P.GK's Bros A. Boyes and E. Moore, for auditing the books. It was decided to erect a store-room, the details being left in the hand of the P.S. Receipts for the evening 4J34 19s 7d, expenditure .£27 12s 7d.
