MR T. S. WAUCHOP.
Swimmers will hear with deep regret of the death in his twentieth year of Mr T. S. Wauchop, a well-known Canterbury Rwimraer. A few weeks ago he was laid up with typhoid fever, but it was hoped that, with his strong ' constitution, he might shake off the illness. However, inflammation of the brain intervened, and though the patient rallied somewhat, he took a turn for the worse on Saturday aftfernoon and gridually. sank.- Mr Wtyotyjifpti&fa year won the 100yds swimming ijtampfdnit - ": shipl of the colony and several provincial championships. At the time of his de&tk " ■ he was captain of the EaafcChristohitfcH 1 Swimming Club, and the office was atribute to the respect and esteem in which 1 he was held.
