CHRISTCHURCH HOCKEY CLUB.

♦ The annual meeting of the Christchurch Hockey Club was held on Saturday, when Mr Kinvig presided. The report showed that the financial affairs of the club were in a satisfactory condition. The membership roll at the beginning of the season included between forty and fifty playing members. The incoming committee was recommended to endeavour to obtain the appointment of an Appeal Committee, composed of delegates from the various clubs. The balance-sheet showed the receipts to have been .£15 12s lid, and the expenditure 14s 6d; credit balance £2 18s sd. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : — President, llr Charles Lewis, M.H.R.; vice-presidents, Messrs D. B. Lowe and Bristed ; captain, Mr Withers ; deputy-captain, Mr Ridley ; secretary, Mr Pavitt; treasurer, Mr Hellier; committee, Messrs Black, W. E. Lawrence, J. S. Winstcne, L. Manson, D. Kinvig, and R. Vincent; selection committee, Messrs. J. D. Lawrence, P. GK Withers, and A. Kinvig. Two new members were elected. It was decided to open the season on Aprii 2. The Secretary was instructed to call at an early date a meeting of delegates of the various hockey clubs to confer Upon the question of the formation of an Appeal I Committee. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers and the Chairman and the meeting terminated. '
