TRUANT OFFICER.
From the figures quoted at the last' meeting of the Napier School Committee,, it is evident that the labours of the recently-appointed truant officer are bearing excellent fruit. The average attendancefor the past month was 870 out of a roll number of 964, whereas at tho same timelast year, with a roll number of 962, theattendance was only 782.
