WANGANUI SWIMMING CLUB.

NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS: (ll'auganui Chronicle.) The Wanganui Amateur Swimming Club was favoured with glorious weather on Thursday, on the occasion of its Championship Meeting held under the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association rules. The following are the results of the principal events : — . HIGH DIVE— P. Crabbe (Wellington), 1; W. Brennan (Wanganui), 2; W. Perrett (Wanganuil, 3. 50yds HANDICAP-First heat: P. Maboney. Gsec, 1; KB. Willis, lOsec, 2; J. S. Bntler (Weilinjrton), 7sec, 3. W. Brennan 3sec also started. Won on the touch. Time— 39»ec. Second heat: P. Crabbe (Wellington), lsec, 1; W. J. Mahoney (Wanganui), sseo, 2j E. E. Larking (Wangnnui), 7sec, B. Time— 3B|*ec. Final heat: P. Mahoney, 6sec, 1 ; Crabbe, lsec, t ; Willis, lOsec, f. Won by a yard, Crabbe and Willis dead heat for second place. Time— 4o>sec. QUABTEB-MH/E CHAMPIONSHIP OF NEW Z^ALAND-H. Bich (Lyttelton).l ; A. B. Truscott (Canterbury), 2; J. n . Hamilton (Napier), 6. Crabbo (Wellington) and St Gorton and M Gregor (Wanganui) also started. Hamilton and St Gorton went away with a slight lead, hut were soon displaced by the two southerners. At the fourth lap Orabbe had had enongh, and St Gorton followed suit in the next lap. From this cut Kich and Iruscott, botb swimming with a strongoverarm stroke, bud it all their own way, the former drawing away at the fourteenth lap, and ultimately winning by about fifteen yards, Hamilton a little more than ft length of the bath away third, and M'Gregor close up fourth.
