THE VOLUNTEERS.
The final competition for the Champion Belt of the Canterbury Engineers took place at Bromley Eange on Saturday afternoon. At 200, 500 and 600 yards Sergeant Smith scored respectively 34—17—20; total, 71. Corporal Taylor made 30—21— 14; total, 65. Corporal Morrow put on 29 — 13—21 ; total, 63. In the final, seven shots at the 600yds range, all three competitors scored 21 • apiece — a most consistent bit of shooting. The grand aggtegates inthe competition were as follow : — Sergeant Smith, 310; Corporal Taylor, 298; Corporal Morrow, 287. Sergeant Smith takes the Champion Belt of the corps and gold medal.
