SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
The monthly meeting of the Papanui School Committee was held on Monday evening; present — -lessrs D. Buntin (chairman), Thompson, Were, Horner, Prichard, Hudson, Jones and Jackson. The head-master's report showed the average attendance as 231.1 for the past month. A vote bf thanks was passed to Mr T. S. Weston for the dux medal given to the school. The balancesheet foi- the picnic showed receipts £24 2s, and experliture _323 13s 3d, whieh left a credit balan. •■ in hand of 8s Od. Votes of thanks were •■>assed to Messrs Blackwell and Wilson foi favours received at Kaiapoi. Accounts for £7 7s lld were passed for payment.
