HOW LETTERS GO ASTRAY.
As showing how letters may go mysteriously astray, the Auckland Herald states that Mr Crosher, electrician, of High Street, received by the last Son Francisco mail a circular in an open envelope. On opening it he found on removing the circular that a letter addressed to a lady at Walthamstowe had fallen into the open envelope and was sticking there, having" been unnoticed by the English Post-office officials. The lady at Walthamstowe must still be waiting for her letter, which will reach her in due time through the agency of the Auckland Post-office officials.
