DISTRICT COURT JUDGES AND MEMBERS. In the District Court at Hawera yesterday in a case in which Mr M'Guire, M.H.R., web suing to recover an amount alleged to be due on a promissory note, Judge Kettle said that as the plaintiff was a member of Parliament and he (the Judge) had to depend on an annual vote of Parliament for his salary, it appeared to him very desirable that the case should be heard before the Supreme Court. The Court adjourned, and on resuming both counsel and Mr M'Guire agreed with the Judge's view, and the case was allowed to stand over for the Supreme Court at New Plymouth.
