♦ HIS VISIT TO AKAROA. [From Our Correspondent.] AKAROA, Jan. 31. His Excellency Lord Ranfurly arrived afc Akaroa on Saturday, having driven from Little River, and was met and welcomed by the Mayor and Councillors, the chairman of the County Council and obhers. In the afternoon he was shown over the town. On Sunday morning he attended service at St Peter's Anglican Church. In the afternoon his Excellency left Akaroa by the launch for Duvauchelle's, where he was met by his carriage, and thence drove to Little River. Advantage was taken, when in the launch, to show him Onawe and o' er places of interest in the harbour. His .Excellency expressed himself nmch pleased with the loyal reception. He said that he was charmed with the beauty of Akaroa, "and stated his intention of again visiting the locality in March, when he will be accompanied by Lady Ranfurly, who wishes to take sketches of the lovely scenery of the Peninsula.
