At the half-yearly meeting of the Stock- : owners' Meat Company, the report showed that operations had been practically suspended during six months, the prices of export stock being so high as to leave no ■ prospect of a reasonable realisation of profits on exported meat. Such shipments as had been made had resulted in further ! loss. The report foreshadowed a scheme j of reconstruction as the only means of • saving the company from being broken up. SHIPPING.
