FIRES.
[Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, Jan. 29. Another dairy factory was destroyed by fire this morning, when Mr Bryant's premises were burned down. Not a single article of the plant, valued at between ,£3OO and .£4OO was saved. Insurance .£3OO in the New Zealand office. FEILDING, Jan. 29. The high wind which prevailed yesterday caused log fires to spread rapidly in the yicinity of Cheltenham, and to within a few miles of Feilding. A considerable amount of fencing was destroyed, and the danger to homesteads is not yet over. At Apsti and Waituna the fires have also caused much trouble. In a number of instances, women and children had to be removed to places of safety.
