At a meeting of the Wellington Eacing Club to-night a letter was read from the Chairman of the Racing Conference, drawing attention to the congested state of the unpaid forfeit list, which, in his opinion, was caused by the inclusion, of many amounts in arrear through the irregular reception of entries and acceptances by clubs. As the "Wellington Metropolitan Club was not guilty of the irregularities complained of no action was taken, the question being considered one that should be dealt with at next Conference. A special meeting will be held to consider the question of licensing bookmakers to ply their calling at the summer meeting of the club. Tlie date for the Amuri Turf Club's races' has been fixed for Thursday, March 17. A programme almost similar to that of last year lias been adopted. The main alteration is that the Sires' Produce Stakes has been ohangedto a Maiden Plate, welter weight-for-age.
