THEATRE ROYAL.

DR BILL. Some years have passed since Miss Myra Kemble played Dr Hill in Christchurch, and the revival of this extremely amusing comedy by the Inman Company last night was very welcome. The piece went fairiy well. Mr Inman in particular made a great deal of the character of Dr William Brown, and no fault can be found with Mr Hodson's interpretation of the part of Mr Firman. Mv Scott, too, did excellent work as George Webster, and .Miss Maud Appleton had evidently stxidied the part of Mrs Horton carefully. A few of tho remaining characters were, however, hardly so well sustained, and this no doubt had something to do with the fact that tho play occasionally became a trifle tedious. Mr T. E. Leonard must not, however, be included in this indictment. As Baggs he was very bright and humorous, ana his singing appeared to be thoroughly appreciated, br Bill will be repeated to-night. To-morrow night Held by the Enemy will be staged, and Mr Inman will appear in a character which lie created in Australia.
