m ■ — [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 31. A large shednear Foxton containing nearly 700 bales of flax has been burned down. The flax was ready for shipment to Wellington for the Barossa, one of the Freight Seduction Committee's vessels. The flax, which was the property of Messrs A. S. Patterson and Co., was valued at .£llOO and was insured in two local offices. \ NELSON, Dec. 31. Bush fires have been raging in the Takaka Valley for a week or two past. Messrs Baigent Bros.' sawmill at Upper Takaka was burnt on Wednesday morning. Very little was saved and there is no insurance.
