At the inquest death was shown to have resulted from heart disease: Her husband is working at Gisborne. DUNEDIN, Dec. 30. James Eennie, aged sixty, a farmer residing at Heriot died suddenly this morning.

An inquest was held at Ashburton yesterday afternoon before the Hon W. J. Steward, J.P., tonching the death of John Eaglesham, who was found drowned in the swimming- baths on Wednesday. The evidence showed that deceased, who was in very bad health, had got a carrier to drive him to the domain, it being his intension to enjoy the sunshine quietly. He was seen to go towards the baths. As he did not return to his lodgings, he was sought for. His hat was found on a bench at the baths, and on Sergeant Barlow using the drag his body was recovered. Deceased's watch had stopped at 2.30, but started to go when opened. A verdict of "Pound drowned " was recorded. An inquest was held at the Sunnyside Asylum yesterday morning, before Mr R. Beetham and a coroner's jury, on the body of Maurice Sullivan, an inmate of the asylum, sixty-four years of age. The evidence showed that the deceased bad been a patient there for many years, and had died from heart disease. A verdict in accordance with the evidence was returned. An inquest on the body of Charles Dawkins, who died in the Christchurch Hospital from injuries caused by his horse ! Fishhook having fallen with him in the I First Hurdle Race at' the Broadfield sports on Monday last, was held at the hospital yesterday afternoon, before Mr E. Beetham and a jury, of which Mr John Russell was i chosen foreman. The circumstances detailed in the evidence have already been published, and a verdict of "Accidental death ** "was returned.
