Kelly •was again unable, to bat for New South "Wales. The wickets of the latter team in the second innings soon fell, the innings closing for 92. Gregory 17 and Noble not out 16 were the top scorers. Koche took five wiokets for 51, Truinble two for 20, and Giller one for 17. THE TEST MATCH. The test team will not be selected until to-morrow owing to Trott's illness. The Canterbury team arrived at New Plymouth late this evening. They experienced rough weather on the voyage.

The match between the Excelsior and A. F. Tooraer's boot factories was played at Lancaster Park yesterday, and resulted in a win for the latter by an innings and 75 runs. The scores -were — Toomer's 125 (Ayrey 35, E. Toomer 33, P. Townsend29 and P. Jack 12). Excelsior, 26 and 24 (Donnelly 10). F. Toomer took ten wickets for 15 runs, and E. Toomer nine for 27. Donnelly and Fitzgerald bowled best for the losers. Yesterday afternoon the Kaiapoi firsteleven played an Addington and Sydenham team. on the Kaiapoi Park. The match resalted in an easy win for Kaiapoi. The following are the scores: — Kaiapoi, 170: G. Eollinson (60, retired), J. Bate (54, retired), and G. Oram (10, retired) were the principal scorers. Sydenham and Addington scored 58, Walmsley being the only one to reach double figures. In the bowling, Martin aiid Clayton for Kaiapoi, and Jones (2) and Christian for Sydenham and Aldington bowled best.
