LEESTON.
The general tenor of this market yesterday showed a slight improverhent on recent sales. Tho cattle market has gone up with a jump, the prospect of improved pastures being responsible for the rise on recent quotations. The pig market continues firm, and nearly every animal offered found buyers. Appended aro a few quotations:—Sheep, butchers' lines, ev/es, 8s to lis 6d; wethers, lis to 145.6 d; merino wethers, 4s 6d to 4s lOd; ewes and lambs, one line with a percentage of 120 lambs sold at 12s 6d; stores, a very small entry and absolutely no demand. Fat Cattle—Cows from £2 10s to £0 10s; bullocks, £4 to 6. Dairy Cattlo—Milch coavb, £2 to J. 6, according to quality ; springers, £2 5s to £6 10s. Stores—Two ' and three-year-old steers, £1 15s to £2; j yearlings, 10s to 255; calves, up to 12s 6d. Pigs—Baconers, 28s to 395; lighter sorts, 24s to 30s; porkers, 16s to 24s • stores, 7s 6d to 16s; weaners, 2s 6d to os. Produce at latest ruling prices.
