[Per Press Association.! INVERCARGILL, Jan. 21. The Queensland v. Southland match was continued to-day in boisterous, showery weather. With four wickets down for 89, M'Glinchy and Lewis resumed batting, and carried the score to 117 before being separated. A match was played yesterday at New Brighton between H. Fuhrmann's and New Brighton, and resulted in a win for the former by 97 runs. Scores: — New Brighton 47 • (Mullins 17) ; Fuhrmann's 14*4 (Richards 72, Cusack 19). Eichards and Cusack for Fuhrmann's and Prebble, Mullins and Jack bowled the best. A cricket match was played at Lancaster Park yesterday between the Hardware and Post and Telegraph Clubs, resulting in an easy win for the former by 93 runs. Hardware 184 for three wickets, innings declared closed (Frankish 69 not out, Page 47 not out, Turner. 2s, Spencer 21, A. Eeese .15), Post and Telegraph 91 (Edser 25, Bennetts 18, Winstanley 15). For Hardware, Page four for 25 and Frankish two for 4, and for Post and Telegraph Ford bowled best. A match was played yesterday at Hagley Park between the Veterans' Club and a selected team from Eangiora. The visitors went in first and made 158 runs, the chief scorers being Judson, who retired on making 50, Mason 34, Tyler 13, Eeynolds (captain) 12 and Wilson 10. The bowlers for the Veterans were Blake and Dickenson. The Veterans were all out for 47 runs, only Hickmott 11 and Taylor 10 getting into double figures. The bowlers were Eeynolds and Tyler. In the second innings the Veterans made a better stand, scoring 170 runs for seven wickets. The principal scorers were Murphy 50 (retired), Blake 29, Dickenson 27, Taylor 28 and Goring 19. A match was played yesterday at Hagley. Park between the Sydenham aiid' Addington Thursday team and the Hairdressers, which resulted in a win for the former. Scores : — Hairdressers 77 (Voyce 20, Williams 18 not out, F. R. Eobertson 17), Sydenham and Addington 188 for eight wickets (Lafferty 101 not out, Gasson 18, Robson 17, T. Hadfield 11). Lafferty, who went in first, batted splendidly, and carried his bat through the innings* without . giving a chance. Svkes bowled best for the winners, taking seven wickets for 32, while Voyce and Robertson bowled best for the losers.
