CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, Dec: 29. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Drunkenness.-A first offender was charged with having been drunk in a railway carriage. Ho did not appear and was fined 20s, in default foity-eight hours' imprisonment. Alleged False Pretences. — John Watson Munro was charged with having on Dee. 22 obtained 39s in money, and goods value Is, from J. B. Alston, by means of a valueless cheque. On his own application the accused was remanded till Jan. 4. Bail was allowed in his own surety of .£25 and one other surety of i>2s.
