DIOCESAN CHORAL ASSOCIATION.
• , A general meeting of the members of the Christchurch Diocesan Choral Association was held at Dr Irving's house on Monday last. The Eev the Precentor (Rev Walter Dunkley) 1 was in the chair and eight choirs, . viz : the Cathedral, St Michael's, St Luke's, Avonside, St Albans, Riccarton, Merivale and Lyttelton, were represented. At the request of the Chairman Mr Bellhouse acted as secretary. Apologies were made for- the absence of Dr Irving, Mr C. F. Turner and the Eev W. T. P. Winter, who also resigned his position on the committee The acting-Secretaiy read the annual report, consideration of which was deferred to the next general meeting. Mr Wells read the scheme (which had been drawn up by a duly appointed sub-committee) for the better management of the Association, and after some discussion it was resolved : "That the document be type-written or printed and distributed amongst the choirs for their approval or otherwise, as they may think best." It was decided to communicate with Mr Wells while he was in England in reference to the Service Book for next festival. Mr Bellhouse ' was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services at the late festival and was requested to act until the next general meeting. A vote of thanks to the Diocesan choirmaster and wishing him hon voyage brought the . meeting to a close. •
