ELECTORAL.
Mr W. Recce, who arrived from England, this morniug/states that he will not under any circumstances become a Parliamentary candidate, as it is understood the National Association wished him to do. The Managing Committee of the Tailoresses and Pressers' Union met last night. A letter was received from the Labour and Liberal Council asking the Union to forward a copy of the membership roll for the purposes of the ballot to . bo taken by the Council. It was resolved that as the general body at the last general meeting failed to deal with the matter, the Committee co\ild not act in reference to the taking of the ballot and its expenses, and the Secretary was instructed not to forward the roll. A letter was received from Mr Cullen requesting the Union to withdraw his name from the ballot to be taken by the Labour and Liberal Council. It was unanimously agreed to comply with Mr Cullen's request, and the Secretary was instructed to communicate with the Council instructing it to withdraw Mr Cullen's name from the ballot. After business of minor importance had been considered the meeting closed.
