FIRE.
[Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, Oct.. 20. A destructive fire occurred at Kuaotunu, on the Western side of the township, commencing in the Public Hall. Tammadge and McSheffrey's store and McSheffrey's stable and private dwelling were destroyed. Cowan's new hotel narrowly escaped. Naylor's Novelty Company lost all their property in the . Hall. Tammage and MeSheffrey are heavy losers, being only partially insured in the North German Office. Had there been any wind the whole township would have gone. The origin of the fire is unknown.
